One Year Gone

Well, yesterday we did our last pre-Xmas show and craft sale at one of the small towns in our area. I must say that I was not at all disappointed that the season was at an end.

Many people go through life wishing for the end but never know what the end is. The end for me is an opportunity to recapture passion about what I do, to rekindle the juices of creativity but is not an end that says everything should come to a complete and continuous stop.

The end for some people e means that they have given up, that what they do is not what they ever wanted to do.

If you have a passion for what you do, you must still have an end sometime so that you can go to zero and allow all matters of other living things and occasions to enter into your consciousness. This end is only then a beginning for what is new to come, for other material things to shape new thoughts and emotions.

Preparation For Cold Weather

You might ask yourself what has preparation for cold weather have to do with a motivational thought or a digest of what is right and good? Well, on the one hand you could always say that preparation for the cold weather is a smart move, a timely move that gets one ready for the winter so that those things that have to be done are done and therefore there is no regret that those necessary chores cannot be done.

On the other hand, preparation is one of the hallmarks of those people who want to be successful, and indeed, plan to be successful. If you do not know what to do or how to go about it, ask someone who has done what you want to do.

I was reminded of this basic but necessary strategy on the weekend when I helped my friend remove a chimney pipe and repair his roof. He had no idea what he had to do to repair his roof until I showed him. Because he didn't know but had to remove this old chimney for insurance coverage, he asked me - a person who had repaired many roofs over the years.  What he didn't know how to do, he asked. A simple method but one that goes without being used more often than you might realize.

There are people willing to help so ask - what have you got to lose?

Got The Right Idea?

Many thousands of people get great ideas to invent a very useful product or an idea for a new service that can help others do what is necessary. These ideas could be put into motion with consistent effort and with a plan that outlines what is needed to be done step by step. So, why are hundreds and hundreds of good ideas not brought to fruition?

Get a good idea and stay with it. Dog it, and work it until it's done and done right.
Walt Disney

I believe Walt Disney captures the reason for not moving forward quite well. The problem is that people do not stick with it either because they simply do not believe in their idea strong enough, or do not stick with it because they run into what some believe are insurmountable problems.

There are options to explore if you think you have hit a brick wall and one of these options is to consult with someone else who has met and overcome similar problems. And, if you think there are not these kinds of people, or if you think they will not talk with you and help you, you are wrong.

Do not give up on a great ides - rethink it, rechannel your energy, consult with others, ask for help, and show a stickiness that brings you forward.
